I started Kosher Sex Toys over a year ago mainly because as a religious person I saw a need for a sex shop were religious people would feel comfortable shopping. Needless to say the site was a resounding success.

As I spoke to more people I realized that many people outside of the Jewish world didn't understand what it was in other shops that offend religious people. Many people not familiar with our customs saw and see the Orthodox view of viewing woman's bodies it as some hold over Victorian sensitivity, that at best is no longer relevant and at worse oppressive.

I decided as the owner of a successful site that drives traffic and is seen by many people to start our newest campaign entitled "Objectification is never kosher" to help explain to the world what it is that religious people (I can only speak for the one religion I am familiar with i.e. Orthodox Judaism) find offensive with the modern western portrayal of woman in the media, and why the need for a site such as mine exists. Nobody argues that the Objectification of anyone male-or female is a good thing and I hope with my site to bring an awareness to this, and to buck the trend of objectifying human beings to sell products.

There is a famous Gemara (I am not sure were) that says that when someone comes come to Judgement they will have many excuses for their shortcomings.

Some will say "I was too poor and didn't have time to fulfill the Torah." To this God will point to Hillel and ask "were your poorer than him?"
Some will say "I was too rich and were way too busy."
To this god will answer. Look at Eliezer who was fabulously wealthy and made time to learn.

So to all those that say that they need to objectify human beings to sell their product I say I sell sex toys without the need to do this; so what is your excuse?
